Amish carrige
The Amish, like the Dutch, are noted for the way in which they keep things neat and orderly, as you can tell from the two farm scenes below.

The orchards were just as neat and cared for very well.

It was a little early in the spring so we couldn't tell what was planted in the garden in front of the orchard.  It may not have even been sown yet, just prepared.

Boy plowing with 5 horses pulling the plow As noted, it was early spring and they were preparing the fields for sowing.  I did not know until after our tour that the Amish did not appreciate having their pictures taken, which may be why the boy is lifting his hand that way, asking me not to continue.  I hope he was not too offended, and I love this picture and memory of the watching him plow with horses.
I double sinned and took a video as well, click on the YouTube Logo to see it.

One can't have pictures of Amish country withont one of a buggy waiting on a traffic signal to turn green.  You can see that it was a bit of a dreary day, but it didn't dampen our enjoyment of the visit.  Amish Buggy
